It's a waste!

Joshua has stopped vomiting.

However his appetite is not back yet but he’s eating more.

This few days I was not feeling really well either. I had a craving for porridge. Or rather I can only eat porridge as whatever I ate, it all came out below.
So Papa went to Hungrygowhere to do a search on the porridge. According to the review, this porridge seller has got 20 years of experience and the recipes are 20 years too. Best of all, it was at Serangoon Gardens Market.

So we took a cab down all the way to try out the porridge.
Eagerly anticipating to try the porridge.
Verdict – Normal.

Ever since Joshua went to school, his appetite increases. He can eat at least ¾ of whatever is given to him. Or sometimes if it’s his fave Macdonald, he can finish it all. And we are used to ordering something different from what we are eating for him.

I know his appetite is not good and can only eat something light.

As usual I will let him choose if he wants rice or noodle.

So repeatedly I ask if he wants rice or noodle. He told me noodle.

I ordered Kway Tiao Fishball Noodle Soup. He refuses to eat.
At first I tried to be patient. Coax him into taking a few bites.
Initially, it works. But after a few bites. He told me: “Bao Bao le”
This time I was really angry as there’s so much food left.
There’s my porridge, his noodle soup. How am I supposed to finish all by myself?

Without any choice, I just have to eat all the food by myself with some help of Papa. But he’s not a fan of Noodle soup. So limited help was given.

Fast forward to today. He’s doing the same thing over again. This time I was really angry. I refused to let him watch his Mickey Mouse and ignored him when he tried to throw tantrum.
At the end of his tantrum throwing, I won! He gave in, say sorry to me, hug me and gave me a peck on my cheek.
However he’s still not eating, only drinking milk and water.

From this I just know that I have to be firm to him. I am not afraid of him throwing tantrum in the public. He’s only a child! I know sometimes it’s unnecessary and irritating.

But I am numb to it.

Constantly having to remind myself not to lose my temper that readily and just ignore when he’s throwing tantrum. I only talk to him after that. Usually he will bear it in mind after the whole event.

Dinner time is the next challenge.

Finger crossed. Hopes he remembered what I told him earlier on.

How time flies.

It has been a long time since i last log into here and update this blog.

Actually, I'm clueless on where should i start. As i can only remembered pieces of things or event that has happen.

This past 2 week has been especially "SICKENING" for Joshua, Papa & me.
Joshua has been falling sick consecutively for the past 2 weeks.

In the early afternoon on Wednesday(Deepavali 2011), we actually intended to send him to my mun place. But on the way there, he suddenly develop high fever. We had to make a U-turn even though we're reaching my mum place. Once at home, his reading was 39 degree, immediately Ibuprofen was given to bring down the temperature. And for the whole day, his reading was 39 0r 40 degree. It only came down when he was given Ibuprofen and was he more active. Throughout the whole day, he refuses food but only drank milk and water.
Off to Kids Clinic on Thursday. As usual long waiting time. I actually prefer Dr. Lilian Lim but she was not available. Then according to Dr. Allyson Tan, Joshua might just have a throat infection as his tonsil was quite swollen and red. resulting in his high fever. Antibiotic and more Ibuprofen and Panadol syrup were given.
On Friday, he was better as the fever is on the lower range. He was still refusing food but only drank milk and water. In fact, he even shitted. So i assume that he is feeling much better. Just after his noon nap, he was at 39.8 degree. Again! Before his noon nap i message Papa that his fever was at the lower range and he was more active. So no need to go down to hospital. Again the whole process repeated itself. Given the Ibuprofen, came down and when he woke up from the nap, it came back again.
That evening off to hospital. Doctor diagnosed that he was down with tonsillitis. No antibiotic this time but higher dosage of Panadol as he refuses Ibuprofen at the hospital. Doc mentioned that the antibiotic only causes more outbreak of his ulcers. So have to let his immune system do the fighting. He was not allow school for the next 5 days.

Sigh... There it goes again. I have to take leave....

And this week.
Thursday night, he vomited. I already find him behaving weird during dinner time. He refuse to eat anything we given to him. During his night bath, i will usually brush his teeth before his bath but he refuses(he loves brushing teeth!). Expected, something is wrong, he vomited.
Friday, off to see Chinese physician. Doc diagnose him with stomach flu causing him to vomit and poor appetite.
Today monitoring. If he still vomit, a visit to the hospital is a must. But i keep my finger crossed.

I REALLY HATE HOSPITAL!!!!

Seriously, there has been a lot of changes.
I switched professions. Although it's now of a lower position then my previous job but I'm paid more and more relax. So i do not mind at all.

Nowadays, i tried to take things easy and see things in a more relax way. I don't insist on things too much resulting in myself to be happier and not so selfish. However, evil thoughts still comes to me once in a while.

Very soon, Papa 32nd birthday, Xmas, New Year, Genting trip then Joshua's 3rd birthday coming. A lot of exciting events!

For now, it's to work harder to make all this wonderful events works.

It's has been 2 weeks since my mum last saw Baby Joshua.

Just a brief updates on why i am not bringing Bb Joshua to my mum there.
I do not like the way my 1st auntie speaks and looks when i bring Bb Joshua over.
I remember vividely on 2nd day of CNY, my mum volunteer to help look after Bb Joshua. But we went there abit late. And it happens that my 1st auntie have not slept yet. So she gave me the "It's so late, what are you doing here with Bb Joshua?" look. Then she comment, "So late already, why don't bring him home?" I ignored her.
From then, i promised never to bring Joshua there anymore. Why? I know it's her house, but i am not troubling her to look after Bb Joshua. I know. To her, i am an irresponsible mum. Do not want to look after Joshua myself. Throwing him to my mum.

All i want to say is, Bb Joshua went there for a few hours. And i realised that the house is so quiet. And i was damn bored. So decided to take a nap.

Back to the topic, Joshua's really smart.
He's able to take the "Ru yi yu" cover and cover the bottle of the "Ru Yi Yu". And when the cover is in the opppsite direction, he will turn the cover over and cover the bottle. So smart of him. I have never taught him that and he figured it out himself!
I have attached a video of him putting back the "Ru Yi Yu" into the bottle when it dropped out. Do check it out!

Happy 24th birthday to me(Mummy)!

Firstly, i would like to wish myself a very Happy 24th birthday. Before the clock struck 12midnite.

The day started early for me. I was woken up at 10.54am. Why would i say that i woke up early? As i slept really late the night before. At 5am. So i was actually not feeling that good when i woke up.

So morning was the usual for me. Priority is always Joshua. Feed then bathed him.
After the preparation, we leave the house at 1.45pm.

We reached the hotel at 2.25pm. Thought that we can start our high-tea, but was told that it's actually start at 3pm. Hm... Was pretty hungry. So Daddy suggest that just the both of us to go for a walk and also to wait for ah yee.

To cut it short, we went back there about 3pm. Started the high-tea. With ah yee joining us at about half an hr later.
The high-tea was pretty good. It's lean more to the deserts. Fruits were fresh and the best thing was, there is fondue. Hm... Really delicious. And i particularly like this crossiant with the prawns and tiny bits of mango. The combination is prefect. I highly recommend trying that. The high-tea is really different from the others that i ate before. Really good but with limited choices.

So after eating, we went to walk around. I really want to buy a bag. A handbag. But till now, i could not find any to my liking. Then walking to ION, we went in to Burberry. See what new collections they have. Nothing really fantastic. Pricey as usual. Just dream on. I might get one branded bag someday. Just dream on.

To Forum for Bb Joshua haircut. I decide on Mohawk. Frankly speaking, i am quite affected when people comment that he looks like a girl. All i can said is, i made the right decision. He looks like a boy and a very handsome one too.

It's a girl?

I have been frequently asked by strangers about Joshua's gender? When I told them it's a boy, they will tell me that he looks like a girl. Fair skin and great looking eye.
I remember when I was pregnant, I used to dream of a girl. When I woke up, I will have this weird feeling. Having doubt on his gender and my gynae expertise. Silly me will take out the ultrasound photo and look carefully at his genitial. It's a boy! Very sure!
I also used to let my mind run wilds. What if my baby has 2 genitial? Which one should we chose? How risky is the operation and how much? Will my baby hates us for choosing the gender? And lots of nonsense.
Looking at my boy now, I really do feel that he's look like a girl. My sis always makes fun of Joshua. Once, she even tie up Josh fringe! It's so incredible funny but look like a girl!
I do hoped that 10 or 20 years down the road, he will still be as pretty as now.
Mummy loves you, pretty boy!

Full Force!

Baby Joshua is like sick full force in the whole 2 week of Feb. Just recover a few days before CNY.

After his birthday on the 17th Jan, he was already coughing. I did not immediately bring him to a doctor as i still has the cough syrup. Then after the cough, it was his flu. On and off. Then decide to bring him to the doctor.
Then his fever start to come. At first, he was warm all over. So decide to just sponge him and take his temp. Just into Feb, his fever was getting worse. 38 DEGRES! Was very hot. Rush to PD, but not seen his usual one. Was not open. So went all the way to Bishan, not open. End up seeing the one in the central which does not accept CDC card. Charge $57 for the consulatation and medicine. The medicine consist of only paracetemol and cough syrup. Fed him the medicine, but does not want it at all. Was struggling away and crying like i forcing him poison. Bt still manage to made him drink the medicines.
Late into the night, his fever was getting worse. 39 Degress! Fed him paracetamol 4hrly. I still went to work the next day but come home early as grandma called to say he was still very hot even after the medicine. Then bring him to see his PD only in the afternoon as the previous doctor told me to continue to give him the medicine 4hrly if it's still hot. She expect that the fever will still be there.
Anyway, usually at the clinic, there will be a long queue. The nurse was very nice to let us see the doctor first when i tell her that Joshua having fever. Immediately, the doctor insert a pill into his backside. Less than an hr, he was feeling so much better. Even sweating. But then the fever will be back later in the night, told by the doctor.
However, the fever did not came back very high. And he was around 37 - 37.5 Degress. I did not continue to feed him anymore medication when he's fever went down. As that week he was not eating much and too much medication was making him even more unwell. Then sat his fever came back again. Sigh...
He was not slping well at all in the night. As his block nose and cough was getting worse. When he sleep, i could hear his breathing so loudly and the block nose was so bad. And he only makes it worse when he cries. He cries at the slightiest things. And was so cringing to daddy and me. Just like a panda bear...
Then brought him back to the PD. Before the PD, we went to buy a sucker for the mucus at the nose. We use that to suck out all the mucus. I suppose it made him better. But nontheless, we still bring him to see the PD. Another round of medication.
Just a few days before CNY, he fully recovered.
Just the month doctor fee came down to abt $300+. Including Daddy and mine doctor fee. While looking after Baby Joshua, we will also sick. Very bad.
That past 2 weeks have been an nightmare. Luckily, i have people around to help me. If not, i also do not know how to manage it.
After he recovered, i realised that he does not like to sleep at all. He will wakes up at 3am in the morning, after his feed he does not want to go back to sleep. Making us crazy...
I truely hoped that bad habit will go away soon.

However, the day was busy but filled with so much laughter. I truely hoped that whoever attended the celebration truely enjoy yourself.

Firstly, a very happy belated New Year to all of you, whoever is reading Baby Joshua's blog.

Time really flies. And in 12 more days, Baby Joshua will be 1. Baby Joshua's biggest milestone thus far.
Thinking back, it has not been an easy task. Looking after Baby Joshua during my confinement period, having to tolerate not showering, shampooing and constant pumping of bm. It's really not easy.
Some night, Baby Joshua will not be well-behaved. Do not want to sleep. Just keep on crying. At that moment, i really feel like breaking down.
Then, having to learn new things which i never thought that i am capable of it.
But i conquered it all.

And i am very proud to say that i am the one who brought him up single-handedly.
However, that would be too much if i did not give credit to people who help me out too.
You should know who you are. Really thankful for it.

For now, Baby Joshua has been very active and responsive. Learning new things fast too...

A short updates on Baby Joshua's 1st birthday celebrations:
17th Jan 2010, NSRCC, 37P, 6 - 10pm. Cake cutting will be held at 7.30pm.

A very Happy 11th months to Baby Joshua.

-A minimun of 3 times of 180ml of milk with 2 scope of cereal in the morning and night(before he sleeps).
-Eat 2 meals of porridge either with fish or mince pork adding in at least 1 type of vegetables.
-Able to hold his own bottle.
-Able to drink from the cup with support.
-Able to eat baby biscuit by himself.
-Have a total of 4 teeth.
-Sleep throughout the nights most of the times.
-Likes to crawl about at home.
-At the stage of cruising about with the furniture or people.
-Do not like to sit in the pram when going out, wants to be carried.
-Can NEVER sit still.
-Wearing size L drypers.
-Knows how to twist his hands, claps, push open door, frank kiss and point finger at others.
-Mumbling... Mamama, papapa, tata, A.
-Friendly with everyone. Always smiley to others.

I think that's all for now.

In Jan, we are going to Bintan with Baby Joshua.
Hopes that he can be well-behaved in Bintain.

Juggling between work and Joshua is already taking a toll on me.
It's even worse now. Joshua is sick, having diarrhea.
And sad to said, his nappy rash also came back.
Again, he's hurting.
Sigh...
If Mummy has other alternative, i would never want to make u feel pain. But now i have no choice. Just bear with it. *Hugs*

I would update more on his situation if i am not too busy or tired.

Happenings!

Sorry people, it's been a long long time.

So i am back to work. Part-time.
It's quite a good feeling going back to work.
However there are times when i am worried about Bb Joshua. Afterall, it's a new maid.

My schedule for a normal weekday consist of me going to work in the morning. Back at home before 2 p.m., shower Joshua, eat lunch, play with Joshua awhile, let him take nap, play facebook, cook his dinner, eat dinner, bring Joshua down for walk, change him, give him his milk and tuck him in bed.
It's may seems normal & easy but it takes up alot of my time! Hahaha...

After i started working, Joshua has not been very good. Esp during the night-time.

Once, as usual letting him slp at 9 plus. Suddenly about 3 a.m. he woke up crying. And we could not soothe his cry. He was crying so pitifully when i tried to rock him to sleep. I tried everything. Feeding him, changing him and rocking him. But this notti boy just refuse to sleep. He wanted to play. Then this whole thing with him crying and letting him play lasted till 5 a.m., with my constant effort rocking him to sleep. Finally he fell sleep. FINALLY!
That was the 1st.

2nd time,
after his night feed. REFUSE to sleep. Wanted to play. ARG....
This time he cry even more pitifully when i tried to make him sleep.
No choice, we have to bring him for morning walk. Then it slowly calm him down and he fell asleep.
I am not good at describing things, but if you are present at that time. You will understand and feel what we're going through.
Daddy said that he look like a monster when he behaved like that.
SO SCARY!

After the 2 incident, i have this phobia that it will suddenly happen again.

Then Daddy and i thought of bringing him out for walk everynight to make him tired. So he will fell asleep after we reach home.
But seems like he caught a cold.

Now having running nose and he's starting to get cranky.

Now that he is older, i am having more difficulty taking care of him alone.
As he now knows how to crawl and stand on his own by grabbing onto things, it is always dangerous to leave him unattended. Sigh.. I am going to be even busier and more tired with my new schedule and Joshua.

Baby Joshua's turning 1 soon.
I have already send my orders for the cake. It will be a ELMO one.

I have not seen Shan for over a year.

All along, we don't meet up much.

So today's meeting was really special and also fun.

Shan was really nice. Just a meet up and she brought a present for Baby Joshua. Really so sweet of her.

Potty Experience

Baby Joshua always have constipation.

He normally poo once every 2 day.

So Grandma suggest sitting Baby Joshua on the potty to make him poo. And also to pre-train him. Let him have the habit of pooing in the morning.

We brought the potty on Sunday. But i was very lazy to let him sit on it.

As usual, he poo on Sunday and have not yet poo for 2 days.

I only started today afternoon. After i keep hearing him trying to force his shit out.
I suppose some Mummy might heard your child doing that when they having constipation but want to shit it out.

So, i sit him on the potty.

I made the "En... En" sound. Less than 2 mins, he made the forcing shit sound again.
And true enough, after awhile i heard a loud poo. Then the 2nd poo comes out.
There it was, his first potty poo.

Just after he finish pooing. He want to stand up. Afraid that he might fall, i carried him to the bed with him not wearing anything.

Just then my fear happen. He pee. All over the floor and over Daddy's lap.
Yeek... I get scolding because of that.
I admit that my planning was bad.
As i did not prepare the towel first.

Or people might think it's disgusting.

So far so good.

White Pearly - DISCOVERED!

Baby Joshua is going through teething. A little white pearly on the bottom of his gum. So cute. Hahaha... I felt so cute when i feel the tooth.
I feel really happy that Baby Joshua is teething now. And he does not have any other teething problem except drooling.

And when he wants to drink milk, he will go:" Nai Nai Nai". So cute right?

At this stage, he is very active.

Always want to touch this and that. And he can't sit still.
I always tell him to sit and relax. But i think he don't understand me lar. Hahaha...

Baby Joshua is consider to be 8 months old as from now this entry.

I really wish that he will learn to walk soon.

"Event of The Year" & Grandma 57th Birthday

A busy and tiring day today.

Precious Moment Event Day & Grandma Birthday.

Woke up at 0830. Get ready and went to Serangoon to pick up Baby Joshua for the event. Reach Serangoon at 1030. Had breakfast and then took MRT to Raffles Place Shopping Centre Atrium 3 for the event.
This year really sucks.
Firstly, there is no food(usually there is). Then there is no spinning of lucky draw.
And the crowd this year is quite bad. Not much people when we arrived.
Anyway, we didn't enjoy the event at all. Daddy say that it is more like a Pte Sale. I believe the ticket is so expensive this year is might be becos of Sam Butcher.

After the event, we brought Baby Joshua to Grandma house.
Then we went home for tuition.
Went to CP to buy Durian cake for Grandma.
After that back to Serangoon to celebrate Grandma's birthday.
Ate a sumptuous dinner.

Outing to AMK Hub - NTUC

Nobody's home.

Decided to go to AMK Hub for grocery shopping.
Since no one is at home, we feel like having dinner at home.
It's the 1st time we are doing that, since the birth of Baby Joshua.
Really excited.

Meet Daddy at Bishan to help me in case the cabin have too many people. So that we can fold up the pram and do the necessary thing.
Head to AMK Market for dinner. Wanted to eat Mince meat noodle but not open. No choice, we ate chicken rice. Sucks!
No meat at all. Somemore 9 bucks.
Then something happened.
My slipper came loose and it snips. Forget about the details. Daddy brought me a nice slipper in the end.
Then to AMK Hub - NTUC.

Event Day - HERE WE COME!

FINALLY...
AFTER SO LONG...
FINALLY CAN UPLOAD PICTURES!!! SOOOO HAPPY...
I will be updating some photos.
FINALLY!

Yipee! This Sat is our family day. I am so excited and happy about that. I thought that this year i am not able to go to the Event. But who knows, Daddy gave me a BIG SURPRISE! A really big one. We are able to go to Precious Moment Event Day'09 on 5/9/09 @ Raffles. I am so really happy. Daddy brought the ticket from E-Bay. So much more expensive! The ticket costs $236. But he brought from the seller at $300. So EXPENSIVE!

Daddy told me that he brought the ticket because it is something for Baby Joshua. Why? As he fell from the bed that fateful day. Seeing Baby Joshua and Mummy in shock. He decide to gave us something memorable. And he strongly thinks that even though Baby Joshua might not think that the event is important or whatsoever. But when he grow up he will get it.

Every year without fail i would attend the event. Actually i did not think that i am able to attend the event this year. But Daddy gave me the opp to attend the event. I always call the event as the "Most Important Event of The Year". Really am so glad.

Yesterday, Baby Joshua fell down from the bed.
Daddy & Mummy were both in the room with Baby Joshua. And Baby Joshua still fell down. Luckily he did not hit his head. He only had a knock on his forehead. Very lucky.
When i saw him on the floor, i cried. I cried so hard. So pain. Heartbroken.
I MUST NEVER LET THIS THING HAPPEN AGAIN!
I am monitoring him now. Because i am not sure if he did hit the back of his head.

I must said that i have been complacent. I am so sure that under my care, Baby Joshua would not have any accident.
Yesterday incident had proved me wrong. Totally wrong!
I really must change my thinking on that.
I still having flashes of what happen yesterday. So scary!!!

P.S: Let's pray that those accidents will not happen again.

A very happy 7th months to Baby Joshua.

Development:

- Sleep through the night 3/4 of the time.
- Drinks about 200ml of milk 3 - 4 hourly.
- Able to sit upright with the head up or down & no support.
- Eat 2 meals a day. Either porridge, cereal or baby food.
- Likes to drink from a cup and not from the bottle.
- Know to smile back when i smile at him.
- Knows how to see other people expression. Etc... Angry, he will cry.
- Likes to shake his backside when changing diaper for him.
- Like to SCREAM for attention.
- Able to walk front and back using the walker.
- Does not like to lie down and will cry if i make him lie down.
- Like to be carry.
- Will rise up two of his hands if people said: Bao Bao.
- Always wants to be involved in our mealtimes.
-Loves to watch Karaoke.

And alot more. That's all i can think of now.

6 Days 5 Nights in Ah Ma House

A very happy 44th birthday to Singapore.

Today's the day.
Fortune Baby Ceremony.
This ceremony is to recognise those babies that are already in their mummy's stomach (who are members) as a member of Soka.

Some of you might be wondering what is Soka.

I am very proud to be a Soka member. In the previous years, i have actively participate in their activity. One of the biggest events include, Chingay and National Day. I have joined the Chingay once and NDP 4 times.
I love participating in the NDP.
From Kallang Stadium to Padang and now to Marina - The Floating Platform.
In the year 2007, we were 1 of the 1st batch to be able to perform in the new performing ground - Marina, The Floating Platform. It was indeed a wonderous experience.
I can still remember vividly those days. The practices, NE shows and Fireworks. That year fireworks was 1 of the most beautiful one. I was very proud to be part of this event. I remember me getting emotional about it. When the grand finale came. I was on the brinks of crying. But i hold back. It's a joyous day afterall.

The day did not go well.
We woke up late.
Luckily Ah yee call me. If not, we will miss this special day. I call it, 'Joshua's Day'.
I am also very thankful to the Young Lion whom help me with registration. As the letter stated that i must register before 9.30 a.m. But we woke up at 9.00 a.m. So late and so rush.
And not forgetting Ms Susan Tay. She was also very patient with me. Handling my qns with paitent. Very thankful to them.

Mummy, Daddy, Ah yee, grandma & grand ah yee went to Expo.

The weather is damn hot. Baby Joshua is sweating all the way. Poor thing.

Expo have got Metro sale. I realised that all the Expo sale is quite similar. Plenty of clothes, bags and shoes. And of cos got baby items too. Grand Ah yee brought Baby Joshua 4 psc of baby clothing for Baby Joshua. Very nice of her. Thank you!

While walking around, we saw this nursing pillow. I have seen it somewhere before that it can be use as a support too. Another cheaper alternative of the Jumbo seat.

But we did not buy it. But it's only $29. Very cheap!

After the Expo. We went back home.

Tonight's Ah Chow birthday. 80th birthday.

As usual, very warm in Ah Chow's house. Baby Joshua cranky again. Might be too wam in there. And he was also very sleepy. He only slpt 1/2 hr at home. And he woke up very early for the ceremony. Poor thing!

Reach Grandauntie house at 10.00 p.m. Wipe him with a cloth and let him drink milk before tucking him to bed.

For the 3rd consecutive day, we went with uncle and ah yee to the moive- G.I. Joe, The Rise of The Cobra.

Just another day

Went to London Weight Mangement. It this promotion for the National's Day.
$8.90 only.
Suppose to give tuition to Ryan today. But the whole thing end at 5.30pm. Therefore, decide not to give tuition. Postpone it.

Then i went to Grand Ah yee house to visit Baby Joshua. Before going, i made a call to make sure they are at home. If not will be a wasted trip.
When i reach Grand Ah yee house. Baby Joshua was sitting on Grandma laps. Grandma was playing with Baby Joshua. As usual was laughing away. When he saw me, he smiled. So sweet...

As usual, just hang around Grand Ah yee house for abit. Later in the night will be meeting Daddy.

Today's outing with Baby Joshua & Ah yee.

We went to Vivo. Intend to go to Toy R Us, maybe to get toys for Baby Joshua. But in the end, we did not get anything from there. Nor did we went into the shop.

Instead we went to buy baby food for Baby Joshua. Baby Joshua loves the Heinz brand of baby food. For now, i have let him tried most of it. I was quite delighted to know that Giant is having promotion for the Heinz brand. 2 for $2.85. Usually 1 is for $1.55. So i saved $0.25 for it. Very happy! =)

After taking the pictures, we are ready to go. Heading off to Forever 21.

Nothing much in Forever 21. So decide to go home. But Baby Joshua was already cranky. Then i carried him up and less than 5 mins, he was asleep. In my arms.

See... So sweet, right? And so tired...

Later in the night, Mummy & Daddy went to Orchard Lido.

Isetan was having Baby Fair. Most of the items at 20% off discount.

We brought a new Avent milk bottle and nipple head. 3 pcs of romper and 1 toy ball. All in total $51 plus. Really worth it.

Usually if you get so many things, it won't only be $50. Might be more.

After that, we watch Up. A very touching and sweet moive. We watch the 3D one. It cost $13. Abit more expensive. But totally worth it. As the graphics are really so much better.

Non-stop

Baby Joshua have been crying alot lately. Ever since he recovered from the diar, he been very cranky. Abit of things will make him cry.
For example, lying down. When make him lying down, he will cry. Hungry alo cry. Sit in the walker also cry.
And the best is when i walk away. He will also cry.
Tracy told me that usually children will behave like that after they recover. Is it true? Sigh... Now he can recognise me. Just today, i have to go and buy his diapers and milk powder. But i can't bring him along as i have too many other things to buy too. When i was in the kitchen preparing myself, he use the walker and slide to the entrance of the kitchen and make complaining sound. Is like scolding me why is he not going. So cute right? And whenever i am in the kitchen, he will walk to the entrance of the kitchen. Waiting for me.
Today during dinner time, i just walk away for awhile. He start to cry again. And Daddy have to sothe him. Hush Hush...
I love it and hate it.
Why? I wish my boy will be independant and not be sticky. But then it just shows that he knows that i am his Mummy. So sweet and argh... Right? Haha...

Just yst i was quite tired and wanted him to sleep. But no matter what, he does not want to sleep. So i play with him. I play tickled with him. Haahaahaa. And he really laugh so cutely. Hahaha. I have set his laughter as my ringtone.
Today when i was in the MRT, my phone ring. As i was using Baby Joshua laughter as the ringtone. It attracts attention. So cute right?

2nd Hep B injection

Baby Joshua went for his 6th months, 2nd Hep B injection.

I always look forward to his injection day. Maybe it's becos i can see how his development goes. How tall and how heavy he is.

He is 9.1kg and 68cm. I think that he is quite tall for a 6 months old. Correct me if i am wrong. And his weight is normal. Not overweight at all.
The nurse told me that becos of the H1N1, there won't be screening for the 9th months. We will only do it when he is 15th months old. That is like next year April.
And when he is 9th months, we can try giving him egg yolk. Start by 1/4 tsp, then 1 tsp, then 2 tsp, then 3 tsp untill he can finish the whole yolk by himself. And only start on the white when he is 1 yrs old.
I am so looking forward to letting him try the yolk. 2 months plus more.

We were late for the appt and have to queue.
So we decide to have breakfast first.

I decide to let him try holding his own bottle.
Yah! He is able to do it!
Am so proud of him!

We were really cruel to Baby Joshua.

He was sleeping when we are on our way to pick him up to Daddy's granny house.
His sleep was disrupted when he reach granny's house. Poor thing! I could see that he was actually very tired. But no choice, they seldom see him. So he have to bear with it.

After all the grand-aunties carried him, he start to get cranky. Crying again. Does not want to sit down. So i make milk for him.
Just then something happen. He snatch the bottle from me. And hold it himself throughout the feed. When i see that, i was speechless. He was so cute. Holding his own bottle. And i felt so happy for Baby Joshua.

Frankly speaking, i am sure that Baby Joshua has lots of potential in doing lots of things.
I might need to let him explore more.

So Daddy & Mummy agreed that if in the future we need to go somewhere and he was sleeping. We shall let him sleep and not move him around. Until he wakes up.

Visits to Tracy's house

Woke up very early today. About 8 plus. I was actually quite tired but excited becos i am meeting my ex-leader, Tracy. She went to Ireland with her hubby for about a few years. Have not seen her since. I'm so excited to be able to see her.
So i decided to bring Baby Joshua to Tracy's house. To also see her 2 boy.
Was suppose to reach there at 3pm. But Baby Joshua slpt at 11am to 1.30pm.
Then i only prepared myself when Baby Joshua woke up.
As Ah Yee have already reach my place. So it is easier for me.

We only leave the house at 2.45pm. We were late already!
Although we are late, we still head to AMK Hub for lunch. Ate Pepper Lunch.
While we are having our lunch, Baby Joshua was already quite cranky. I always make him sit on my lap when we are eating. If not he will make noises. Quite loud somemore. But he did not behave himself properly. Keep twisting here and there. A few times nearly hit the table. So we just have to hurry our lunch. As it is quite late already too.
We intend to buy Polar Puff and Cakes to Tracy's house. But i couldn't find it. So we settle for Bangawan Solo.

Finally reach Tracy's house at 4.45pm. So late! She is going to fetch her elder son at the Centre at 5pm. So late!
We chit-chat for awhile. But Baby Joshua was not well-behaved at all. He kept on crying. From the cab to Tracy's house.
At first i thought he was hungry, but no. In between the feed, he was still crying. Then i tried rocking him to sleep. He was indeed tired but does not want to sleep. The crying went on and off. I made him play with Tracy's son - Ezen. He is still crying. Sigh! He only stop crying when we leave Tracy's house. I really don't know what trigger him to keep on crying.

I have actually taken Ezen pictures. Really cute. I think he is even cuter than Baby Joshua. Haahaa... But in my heart, Baby Joshua still my most Darling lar.

Isn't he adorable? He does not look like Asian at all! So envy!

Outing to MS

Brought Baby Joshua to MS to meet Ah Yee & her friends for lunch at Seoul Garden. It was to celebrate Ah Yee friend, Joleen belated birthday.

As i have nothing to do, so i just tag along.
We will eating happily when a tour of people turn up. Alot of people and it was really noisy.
Then at that point of time, Baby Joshua wants his feed. I was feeding him when suddenly a boy run and pull the handle of the pram. Making the whole pram to fall. Luckily my hand was there. It avert a disaster from happening. Really lucky.

After the boy realised what had happened, he did not apologised. Giving me his cheeky smile. I was shock when it happen. No time to react at all.
Then the mum(i think) walk over and apologised. This time i did not say anything and show her an angry look. She was embrassed and walk away.

Throughout the lunch, the boy was continue running about. I don't wish to comment about anything in regards to the boy behavior. But sooner or later i am pretty sure something will happen. If he continue to do that. And at that time we shall see. What will happen.

After the lunch, we went around MS to do some shopping. Nothing much. I love it that there is not crowded. Able to go through freely.
Then Baby Joshua shows his colour again. After he recover, he change alot. He is so much more cranky than last time. He always want people to carry him. And he take very short nap. Sigh... I suppose he is growing up. Thats why his behavior change.

2nd shave & 1st library card.

After i mentioned that Baby Joshua is well already on Sunday. He vomitted. Before that i feed him baby cereal. After that he start to cry. I thought that he is still hungry as he has not finish the cereal. So i feed him another 4 scoops with 120ml of water. Going to drowse off drinking his milk, i took out the milk bottle. He start to vomit out all the milk that he drank earlier. I was really scare. He is like a Merlion. With the milk all pouring out of the mouth. So scary! Luckily, he did not vomit anymore.

Daddy's on last-min leave today. So we decide to go to the cafe at the CC near the Polyclinic for breaksfast.
As usual, eat alot. However, Baby Joshua was not really noisy. Just looking around. At those triangle flag hang all around the CC. Then i told Daddy that i want to borrow books for Baby Joshua. To read to him. After i decided to be a stay home mum, i also decide to read to him. At least once a day. Be it in the night or day.
Reaching CP, the library is still not open. Saw the saloon and decide to bring Baby Joshua for his 2nd shave. I have attached the hair shave journey. Enjoy:

After the hair shave, went to library.
Just when i was about to borrow the books, i saw a notice. The notice said that we can apply library cards for 2009 babies. Details i am not so sure.

So i went with the registration and its acually quite cool. You just have to go to -

e-kisok machine - tap on registration - Click on the picture showing the BC - Key in the BC number - Key in either one parent's name - key in contact number for either one parents - key in email add for either one too - tap whether you want 3, 5 or 7 days in advance to remind you of the library books expiry dates - Get the Library cards.

The whole process takes you less than 10 mins. If you are fast, 5 mins will do. And my Darling Joshua got his own library cards. Haahaa. So excited, Right?

First & foremost, a very Happy Belated 6th months to Baby Joshua.

He had diarrhoea on Monday(the eve of his 6th months). But he was not cranky or crying alot. After the 6th times, i brought him to a GP near my house. I brought him there as it was already quite late when i realised that his diarrhoea had not stop. Wrong decision!
I can't said that the GP is not experience at all. But i don't think that Pediatric is his skilled area. He was really quite rough with Baby Joshua. Firstly, he did not open up Baby Joshua diaper to check the diarrhoea. Then when he check his stomach, he press the stomach so hard. Luckily Baby Joshua did not cry. But i suppose it is not comfortable at all. After the examine, just gave the prescription and did not give much information. I have to ask. According to him, the medicine will take effect only after 2 days. So i just let it be.

When i feed him the medicine, he did not like it all. It was salty and bitter. How did i know? I tried it. He was crying and spitting out most of the medicine feed to him. Poor boy. Really feel like crying when i see him like that. I have no choice but to force the medicine into his mouth. Crying all the way.

He turned 6th months on Tuesday. Unfortunately, his stomach was still not feeling so good. And his nappy rash got worse. He was cranky and crying alot. Whenever i tried to clean him up after he shit, he will tried to tolerate the pain. When he could no longer take it, he will cry. Really cry. I never seen him cry like that before. I felt heartpain when i see him like that. I will tried to air him and use water instead of wipes to clean him. It did not get any better. He still had the run about 6 - 7 times. He did not get any better even after he took the medicine.
Then my mum scolded me. She said i am not a good mum. I cry secretly. I really did my best into it. Luckily Daddy very supportive. He said that i did a good job in taking care of Baby Joshua.
Daddy was not able to take leave. Luckily Ah Yee had lesson in the afternoon so she could accompany me to the Clinc.

On Wednesday, the diarr had not stop. And nappy rash getting worser. Sigh! I woke up very early at 8 am to prepare and by 9 am i was already ready. When i reach the clinic, i had to wait 5hrs for my turn. The clinc is forever so packed. But the wait was worthwhile. The Dr was gentle and patience. And she go through his symptoms really slowly and paitently. When i feed him the medicine at home, he ate it without protesting. And even though the cleaning of his nappy rash is troublesome, i conquer it all.

Today is Sunday. His rash is all gone and although he still under medication. He feeling so much better already. In conclusion, i should always chose a Pediatric if i want to bring Baby Joshua to see doctor.

Brought Baby Joshua to Bishan the S-11 Kopitiam to eat dinner.

As usual very cranky. Wants to be carried when we having dinner. Always. Is like he wants to be involved with our meal times. So cute.

As usual, i was drinking Lemon Tea when Baby Joshua keep looking at my Lemon Tea. So i decided to tease him abit. I put the straw quite near to him. Like the 1st picture on the bottom left. He looks at if he wants to drink the Lemon Tea.

Then after he open his mouth, he show a weird expression. He squirt his eyes. Like it is very sour. Then show the Ah Pek face. Again.

Seeing his expression is so cute, i told Daddy to picture his cute expression. And i decide to do it again.

Not able to take the squirt eye in time. Just this expression of him. Ah Pek, again.

Finally the one with the most on-the-spot expression.
Like so sour like that when he's not even drinking it. Hahaha.. So cute.

Ah yee always said that i like to torture Baby Joshua.

Why does she said that? Hahaha... It's because i always like to do mission impossible things to him.

Today, i make him sit on the NTUC trolley. He's fine. In fact it's very good. Shows that he can actually sit even straighter and not lean forward too much. And his grip, WOW! Strong. Very strong.

At just 5 month old, Baby Joshua is capable of lots of things.

-Able to turn to 1 side only.
-Able to LOL even without anyone tickling him.
-Able to sit for more or at least 5 sec.
-Able to hold his neck very high.
-Able to see very far.
-Sleep less (Arghh).
-Able to recognise his Mummy & Daddy.
-Able to smile at anyone who plays with him (not really anyone, only pretty faces)

And the list goes on and on...

I am actually quite proud of myself. Mostly people praise him for being sooo cute.
I am speechless.

BABY VAL VISIT
Went to visit Annabella & Baby Val with Ah yee & Kaiwei yesterday. Had alot of fun talking to them. Esp Annabella. It's quite a pity that Baby Val was sleeping most of the time when we visited. Never get a chance to play with her. But, i carried her before i left. Heehee... I actually like carrying Baby Val. Is light and easy to carry. So nice to snuggle. Heehee.
To Annabella: Thanks for the cute shoe (i forgot what it called), it's really cute! Hope that you like the gift i brough for Baby Val!

MOTHERHOOD FAIR @ EXPO
Daddy, mummy & Baby Joshua went to the fair @ Expo today.
We just brought 3 body suits & 1 romper for Baby Joshua. The rest of the time, we just walk around. Look look and see see. I very much want to buy the Sling carrier. So that i can go to places alone. Even to those places that is not accessible by train. Like my mum place. For now i can only go to places that is accessible by train. When i go to my mum place, i need Ah yee or Daddy help. Even though i can manage alone. But Daddy does not want to buy the Sling carrier. Always like that! Very angry! Hmmp....

Happy 4th month to Baby Joshua!
That day was rather exciting!
Baby Joshua went for his 1st hair cut or rather hair shave. All i can said is, he look soooo cute after the shave.
Really look like a monk. Sooooo very the cute.
All his beloved aunties or grandmas comment that he look so adorable in his new hairstyle. And throughout the whole process, he was very good. Did not cry at all. And he did not struggle either. That's the best part.
And of course i took his picture of before and after. Both equally cute.

I think Baby Joshua knows how to hold his own milk bottle.
I realised that yesterday when i was feeding him as usual. He push my hands away and start to hold his own bottle. Within that 10sec, he push the bottle into his mouth and pull it out. Then he drop the bottle.
I was so amazed by it. WOW! You are such a smart boy! I said.
After that, i don't see him wanting to hold the bottle anymore. Why is that so? He's depressed? Hahah... Becos it failed him? Nonsense, i know. Hahaha... Anyway, look out for more action from Baby Joshua.

He is very restless today. Cry alot today.
Why?
Usually when he cry, it's always hungry. But, it's not like that anymore. He cry at the slightest things! He does not like to lie down for long period already. Want to be carried or sit up. When he wants to sleep. When he wants attention. Sigh... Sometimes, i tried everything.
Today's he crying for attention and wants to be carried. And he will resist sleeping at night. Making all the noises. But i never gave up. Eventually he fell asleep. But with me by his side for another 1 hr. Today is 1 1/2 hr.

Baby Joshua going to be 4 month the next Thursday. I am bringing him to shave his "Tai Mao". Hopefully, he look good in it. I will post picture of him being BOTAK. Hahaha....

30th going to lunch with Bell and Zhen. Celebrate Baby Val full month. So looking forward to it!

Happy Mother's Day - to me

A very happy Mother's day to myself and all the Mummies out there.

The first message i receive today is from Daddy.
Here's what he wrote:
Happy Mommy day darling, you are the best, the cutest, the most beautiful and the sweetest mom to Joshua and me in the whole wide world.

Heehee... To me, this is the sweetest message i have received in quite some time from Daddy.

Today wasn't the most memorable day.
But its something sweet.
I spend the day with my loved ones.

As usual we were broke. So only can have dinner that is below 20 bucks.
Actually i wanted to eat Waraku. But end up eating in MS foodcourt and have cakes and teas at Coffee Bean.
Although it's such a simple dinner, i enjoyed it alot.

However, we took lots of pictures.

It's been sometimes since my last post.

A brief update of Baby Joshua developement.

Went for 3 month injection on 22nd April 09. Everything went quite well and nurse in Poly said that he look so CUTE! He was smiling at the nurse before his injection. Except he was having a slight fever for the 2 days. Poor thing. But he still was well behaved.

Annabell delivered on the day of injection. Visited her with Ah Yee. She's looking good. Baby Val looking good too. Hahaha... Joke with her that i booked Baby Val to be my future DIL. Annabell to delivered another girl for June's son. Had fun talking. Really Enjoy!

Baby Joshua is learning to LOL. And he can really laugh quite loud. For now, is this 3 things tha tickle him - Ah Chu, Muacks and beat Joshua. He LOL at this 3 things. When he laugh, he really laugh out LOUD!
Brought Baby Joshua to see doctor on Wed. As he was Whizzing, blocked nose. Waited for about 1 hr plus. All i get from the doctor is that he is okay, do not need to see doctor at all. TMD! Make me wait so long. He can still say that i should not bring Baby Joshua to clinic during this period. GOT VIRUS! I KNOW THAT. I AM THE MUM. HELLO!

Baby Joshua still does not slp through the night most of the time. He will wake up at wee hours in the morning for feed. Am i not feeding him enough? Or he sleep too much in the noon? Can anyone advise me on that? If i do not let him nap in the afternoon, he will make noise and there is really nothing for him to do at only 3 months plus, right? Please advise...

Officially i am now a stay home mum (untill further notice). I been abit depressed lately. No job = No $$. How to survive. I am already feeling the impact. I am not sure if i am making the right decision. But whatever it is, i am happy to spend time with Baby Joshua. Seeing him grow and progress every week or month is already awarding enough. Hopefully, i will have some "Hen Cai". Hahahah...

Went to visit Joanna yesterday. Everything seems to be going well. That's a good sign... Hopefully she can tahan for another 4-5 weeks.
Let's pray for her.

Tomorrow will be my last session of massage. So far so good. Mona is really funny. Although she's already 50 years old. But, she does not look like it at all. *Envy*
If any of you future Mummy looking for massage lady. You can leave me a massage.
Like what she say, Cheap & Good.

Baby Joshua flips today. I am quite shock by his development. Abit too fast for 3 months old. Anyway, i stop him. As he was quite near to the edge of the bed. For now, i must really be careful when i place him on the bed. And he's strong. Very. As for the neck supporting, he still trying to master it. Although he can raise his head longer, he still needs some practice for it to be even stronger. Jia You! Hahah...

This week, i am very troubled.

What should i do if i kana again? Daddy said it will be fine. But, i do not think so. Can anyone give me some advice?

Just finish my 2nd massage. Was quite a good one. It lasted about 1 hr. Thorough massage. The massage lady name Mona was recommend by Annabella. Her advice to me was to limit my intake of drinks to half of what i am having now. So to conclude, everything has to be half of what i am taking now.
Actually, i am quite upset about my "New figure" now. Who would be happy? I am currently weighing about 77kg. If i go above the 100 days mark, this will be my new figure. But, i am partly to be blame for the figure i am in now. I overate most of the time. Now, i MUST CONTROL. Hopefully, at the end of the 5 sessions i will be better.
*Finger crossed*

Baby Joshua does not sleep till 8plus already. Don't know why. As i have already start working, i hoped he can sleep longer. like 12hrs. But on Wed and Thur, he woke up at about 5am. But he was not crying. After feed, he does not want to go back to sleep unlike last time. He wants to play. I have no choice but to rock him to sleep.

I really am quite curious how my mum look after Baby Joshua. Becos with me, he need rocking. But, becos my mum not strong enough to carry him, she seldom carry him. I wonder how he sleep. Answay, Baby Joshua is growing up pretty fast...

Brought Baby Joshua to meet my Primary school friend. Kaiwei, Annabella and Xiu Zhen (who joined us at a last min notice). They comment that Baby Joshua is very adorable.

First time try feeding him in the pram. It's a success!

That night he slept about 1am and woke up at about 8.45am. Is that consider sleeping through the night? As Xiu Zhen mentioned that if sleeping through the night is like 12hr stg. No disturb.

26/3/09

First time in Chalet. Hahahah... We brought Baby Joshua to Changi SAF Chalet. We had a 5 days 4 nights chalet at Changi. He did not sleep much during the afternoon. Sleep abit then wake up. Baby Joshua sweats easily. I suspect he have sweaty palm. Sometimes when i open up his hands there is this sour sweaty smell. But i am not sure, have to continue to observe him. Anysway, i only realised that he sweat alot when he brought him to the pool. It was already about 8 in the evening, by right it should be cooling and not warm. But still he was also sweating and to the point where he is feeling very uncomfortable and needed Daddy to carry. Poor thing! And the worse thing is, the fan doesn't work! Sigh...

Sleep at about 10 plus in the evening till 6am.

P.S: Daddy comment that his back is aching becos of Baby Joshua... Now he knows what i am going through... Hahahah...

Went to Changi Prison Musem. First time with Ah yi, Daddy & Baby Joshua.
Baby Joshua slept throughout the whole visit. Just when we wanted to board the cab to go back to Chalet, he woke up. Crying. The weather is very hot. As now he's growing very fast, there is not much space between his neck. He having heat rashes all around his neck. Poor thing.

Sleep about 10 plus in the evening and woke up at about 8:45.

Today's the actual day for the bbq. Sucks! Left lots of food and nobody really participate in the bbqing. So what's the point for having a chalet?

Anysway, Baby Joshua has been very good today. Slept most of the time and only woke up at 5 in the evening for bath. As usual, he enjoy his bath. After bath, i feed him when Daddy relative came. They all adore Baby Joshua. All want to carry him and play with him. Hahahah... Skipping the bbq part. At about 9 in the evening. He start to cry for his feed. Today is terrible, he ate 3 times! 3 times! First is 4 scoop with 160ml of water then 2 scoops with 80ml of water and then another 2 scoops with 80ml of water. Wow! Baby Joshua can really eat. Hahahah... Before he slept, he drink another 2 ounces of water. Then fell asleep at about 10 plus. Don't know for what reason, he woke up at about 12 am. Crying... As Ah yi still want to bbq, i brought Baby Joshua down. Luckily, the auntie is around to help carry him and rock him to sleep. After awhile, he dozed off.

Sleep till 8:45 the next morning.

P.S: Daddy's granny praised Mummy for looking after Baby Joshua really well. I am so PROUD!

Baby Joshua stayed over my mum place during the weekend. So, today i went over to my mum place abit earlier than usual. There he was wide awake, not sleeping after his feed. When he saw Daddy, he keep looking at him. With wide big eyes. Then when i went in, he did not look over to my side. Just continue looking at Daddy.

After awhile, he started to make those fake cry sound. I try petting him to sleep. But to no avail. So, i feed him again. This time 3 scoops, 120ml of water. During the feed, he was already feeling drowsy. With his eyes closed at the end. After the feed, he was closing his eyes and i thought he was sleeping. But he's not. He open his eyes and started to struggled. Then i carried him up with his head on my left arms (as always) and both legs (curl up) in my right arms. And started rocking him. Not awhile, he was sleeping. Usually, after awhile i will put him down on my left, with my left arm underneath his head. And with his body curl up towards me. And continue to move my left hand (like a rocking motion) till his really deep sleep. Then of course, when i put him down on my left, he will stir abit. Then i will continue to rock him. After awhile, he will stop moving.

I was rocking him for quite awhile, when i intended to stop rocking him. He woke up. With the eyes wide open again. This time i rock even harder, but he did not close his eyes and was going to start crying. Sigh... Stubborn boy!

So, i decide to ignore him and put him on the bed for him to look around (he love looking around, esp the ceiling). After when i came back from dinner, i checked with my mum whether was he sleeping. My mum said no. Sigh... Still not sleeping. Awhile more, he started to cry. Want to be feed again. That was about 6 plus in the evening. So i made another 3 scoops with 120ml of water. After feed and rocking he finally slept. Not more than 2 hrs, he woke up again! This time not crying just looking around. So, as usual i ignore him abit. Then about 9.30 pm, he started to struggle. Wanting to drink milk. So again i made him about 3 sccops with 120ml of water. After the milk, he did not want to sleep at all. Even though, he was yawning already. So Daddy put him in the room with the fan on and the light off. He started to close his eyes. Going to doze off.
We went down to run some errand, after when we came up, he was still not sleeping. So Daddy rock him to sleep. And when Daddy put him down, he started to cry. Wants to be carried. After 3 attempts, Daddy gave up. I carried him to the living room and rock him. Then gt a call from FIL, so we proceed downstairs. While he was in mummy arms, he slept. All the way home. Upon reaching home, he woke up again. This time not crying too. After sometime, he start to struggle. Want to drink again. About 11 plus in the evening. Daddy feed him. But still not sleepy, so put him in the Sarong. Have been sleeping till now (2.20am).

Now mummy jobs is to wait for him to wake up for the night feed.

MIL just told mummy that Baby Joshua snore when he sleep. Hahaha...
